The Challenge

Atlas Van Lines, a global leader in the moving industry, faced a critical turning point as the market shifted toward smaller, more flexible moves. To survive and thrive, the company made the difficult decision to raise prices, knowing that it was a bold move that required precise, delicate communication. The challenge was to explain this necessity to customers in a way that maintained trust and demonstrated leadership during a period of significant industry evolution.

The Solution

Partnering with the Chicago-based agency, we developed a strategy centered on radical transparency. The centerpiece was an influential film featuring CEO Jack Griffin, designed to deliver the message directly from the top. Director Chris Weatherly was brought on for his expertise in high-level client communication and his ability to direct corporate leaders on location, ensuring the CEO’s message felt authentic, heartfelt, and authoritative.

The Execution

The production was a logistical feat spanning four days across two major locations: Evansville, Indiana, and Washington D.C.. In Evansville, we created an "urban vibe" to reflect modern moving trends, managing the complexities of recording audio on busy streets while coordinating full-sized Atlas trucks and vans. We utilized local professional van operators to ensure every frame felt authentic to the brand.

The Washington D.C. leg presented a different set of hurdles. We utilized location scouts and local crews to find the perfect backdrops and navigated the rigorous permitting process required to film in the capital without interference from local authorities. This multi-city approach allowed us to capture the scale and professionalism of the Atlas network.

The Results

The "Atlas Rest" message resonated powerfully across the transportation sector. By clearly articulating that the price changes were driven by the industry's overall well-being rather than just profit, Atlas successfully turned a potential PR risk into a reputation-building success. The campaign led to an increase in market share and further established Atlas Van Lines as a trustworthy, decisive leader in the global moving industry.
